Description:

The Turkish Ministry of Health has started the process to build an Integrated Health Campus in Izmir – Bayrakli, by means of a Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. The PPP scheme covers the EPC Works of the Health Campus (with a construction period of 36 months), and the Operation and Management of the Facilities for a period of 25 years.

A joint venture comprised of GAMA Inc. and TÜRKELER Inc. has been the successful bidder to act as the private partner of the Client under the PPP Scheme, and is in charge of the EPC Work and Operation & Management of facilities. Árgola Arquitectos, together with Euroestudios and Ámbito Arquitectura, has been contracted to conduct the Conceptual Design, Developed Design, Technical Design and the Construction Management of the Medical Campus project.

The campus  will have a total construction area of 575.672 m2, and will cater for the medical services needs of the cities in the region, Izmir being in the first place with a population of 4.0 million. When the campus is fully operational, it will render medical services to approximately, 3.0 million citizens.

The Project has a total bed capacity of 2153-Beds consisting of three main buildings:

  • Main Hospital (MH): 789-Bed General Hospital, 372-Bed Cardiovascular Diseases Hospital, a 88-Bed Oncology hospital, a 404-Bed Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

  • Forensic Hospital (FSH): 300-Bed High-Security Forensic Psychiatric Hospital (housed in a separate building).

  • Rehabilitation Hospital (RH): 100-Bed Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital (also housed in a separate building).
