Description:
The proposal aims to give an area, that is directly related to the sea inlet, back to the city but whose relationship has been lost. The façade to the river becomes a passable sculpture used as a walkway, living space, viewpoint and as a cultural and playful area. It gives the opportunity to enjoy the urban area in front of the water, the sea inlet’s scenery and the marshland.
Besides, the area’s incorporation to citizen and non- port uses and the visual and physical permeability to be achieved, were solved without failing the strict fishing program. The vehicles, distribution, port’s staff, seamen and customers moves were carefully studied, in order to achieve an excellent use of the pier.
A new relationship between the port services and the citizens is created. These can also participate, in a visual way, of those areas dedicated to wholesale and rasher. In addition, there is also a “themed street” that includes various commercial areas where the customers can taste fresh products.
