PROJECT: Residential complex of 46 single-family homes, Phase 1 of 21 single-family homes. Block M-07. BPP6. Vegas del Genil, Granada.

The typology of attached single-family housing is studied, redefining it based on the parameters of traditional Andalusian housing, questioning its current typology, stripping away any false pseudo-historicist formalism and the "inter-regional" style of attached housing that is currently spreading in our towns.

The design attempts to integrate the width of the building bay and the resulting portion of the facade with the housing arranged around the courtyard, carefully considering the privacy, orientation, and views of each unit. The aim is for the building as a whole to be perceived as a varied and heterogeneous unit, thus avoiding the serial repetition of the same element. The initial and final ends are treated as unique and privileged elements, rather than simply as the result of a "cut" housing unit. This is achieved with a common element at the base, which acts as a plinth, resting beneath lighter, more free-flowing volumes that constitute the habitable units of the apartments.

The ground floor, slightly raised (1.35m), houses the public areas of the house (kitchen, living room, toilet) and a multipurpose room, with a front and rear patio, offering complete panoramic views between the two sides. The bedrooms and more private terraces are located on the first floor.

Flexibility over time: The garages are located on the semi-basement floor, and a very generous reserve space, in which the expansion of the house over time is planned in a controlled manner, which is very common in these houses and is generally not always carried out under the necessary conditions of safety and comfort.

Facade optimization: With a single access and an exit to a semi-covered private interior street providing access to each garage, the monotonous repetition of vehicular access in each housing unit is avoided.
