BIM – Building Information Modeling

Árgola Arquitectos has been a pioneer in the development of projects with this powerful computer tool since 2006.

The challenge for architects who began using BIM was initially to optimize performance in order to undertake complex projects and present them with superior definition in a reduced time. Currently, we utilize the full power of BIM design to include in its database not only the geometry and graphic definition of the project object but also all related information, from the construction characteristics of the materials to the solar exposure and shading of each facade, or the fulfillment of surface requirements in a program of specifications, for example.

As a design element changes, the model information and volumetric forms of that element are consistently updated across all documents. The graphical information generated by this tool in real time is highly visual, making it easy to understand and communicate the impact of design changes on the project. This allows us to make more informed decisions during the conceptual design phase, when changes are still less time-consuming and costly.

For Autodesk, owner of the BIM program we use, Árgola Arquitectos is a clear example of the successful implementation of this program through self-training without any external consulting.
