Center for Energy Studies
PROJECT: Energy Studies Centre at the University of Huelva (UHU). Huelva Science and Technology Park (PCTH)
The Energy Studies Center at the University of Huelva will bring together research groups working in various areas of the energy sector, particularly renewable energy. It will promote new and emerging lines of research. It will foster cooperation between businesses, academia, and research. It will offer training programs in the areas of knowledge, innovation, and new technologies. It will provide support and resources to the Research Results Transfer Office (OTRI), a key element for implementing and activating the application of university research in the business sector. And, together with the support of the Science and Technology Park (PCTH), it will be able to support the Campus Project program of the Andalusian Innovation and Development Agency (IDEA), which assists innovative technology-based companies (EIBTs).
Excellence is manifested in the proposal through the following premises:
A building that meets all its energy needs without emitting greenhouse gases. A “zero emissions” building.
A building consumes 53% less energy than a conventional building, and the rest is covered by renewable production.
A building created with an evolving and versatile model, which allows its spaces and facilities to be adapted to changing needs
A smart building, equipped with home automation software and systems for managing climate control, lighting, security, etc., which make environmental sustainability and energy efficiency viable.
