Cinnamon Island

PROJECT: Residential tourist complex in the Isla Canela Partial Plan in Ayamonte, Huelva

The project comprises three blocks with their longitudinal axis perpendicular to the coastline. These blocks have a hybrid structure, combining elements of the "H" block typology with the open linear block. The complex includes 237 apartments and 270 parking spaces.

Each of these blocks consists of two linear blocks arranged in parallel separated by a courtyard around which access to the homes is organized, through open walkways, articulated by two vertical communication cores in each block.

The stairwells structure this central open space into three sub-spaces. On the south side, this central space is enclosed by a building at the head of the block, which houses the residential units with the best views and orientation, and therefore are generally larger. On the north side, the courtyard is enclosed by a two-story volume intended for commercial use, which also contains the entrance to the block

The linear blocks at their northern end are deformed, opening up to the south orientation and sea views, staggering in plan to the point of joining the blocks together through volumes of decreasing heights as you go further north on the plot.

The complex formally presents movements, setbacks and different heights, combined with a certain treatment of the facade materials, which provide a complex image of juxtaposed and twinned volumes that enriches the formal result, and also provide sea views to a large number of homes.
