PROJECT: "Sol de Alborán" residential tourist complex in the Salinas de Guardias Viejas of El Ejido, Almería.

In the Salinas de Guardias Viejas, on the edge of the Mediterranean and a short distance from the Port of Almerimar (El Ejido, Almería), stands the Sol de Alborán residential resort. The 332 apartments are organized into six buildings arranged so that their longitudinal axis is perpendicular to the coastline. Each building, in turn, consists of two open, parallel blocks separated by a courtyard street that opens towards the sea. Access is via the north façade, facing the main avenue. The desired image is that of a prismatic architecture, with juxtaposed and interlocking small volumes, rooted in the vernacular architecture of Almería. This search for local roots is reinforced by an architectural and construction design that incorporates ecological criteria, energy efficiency, and appropriate, non-polluting materials.
