El Escorial Hospital

PROJECT: Execution Project for the Expansion and Renovation Works of the El Escorial Hospital

The project for the expansion and renovation of El Escorial Hospital involves work on an active hospital building consisting of a main five-story structure and a semi-basement, totaling 9,559 m² of built area, and several external buildings. The work will be carried out in phases to ensure the continuity of all hospital activities and guarantee full energy supplies. The planned phases are as follows:

Phase 0. PREPARATORY.

Construction of the new Central Facilities Building and the connecting gallery with the operational Hospital.

Phase I. EXPANSION.

The expansion works have begun on the northeast wing of El Escorial Hospital, which will house changing rooms and linen storage, the Emergency Department, Emergency Radiology, CT scan, MRI, a new surgical block, a new sterilization unit, a new recovery area, and new laboratories. This phase includes the construction of new vertical circulation cores. The first phase also involves the installation, equipping, and commissioning of the climate control system that will serve all the areas under construction.

Phase 2. EXPANSION AND RENOVATION.

In this phase, the areas outlined in the Project are renovated: the central hub of the existing building and the building's central communications core. Once the renovation work is complete, the final phase of the expansion will be carried out, completing the new planned volume. This phase includes the completion of the Radiology Department, the new Obstetrics Department, the new Day Hospital/CMA (Comprehensive Medical Care Center), the new Endoscopy Department, the new Preventive Medicine Department, and new Staff areas.
