Fuenlabrada Regional Hospital
PROJECT: Fuenlabrada Regional Hospital
Typologically unprejudiced in its architecture, the Fuenlabrada Hospital is an exercise in synthesizing key functional aspects around an object that is proposed as a meta-project, a "project of projects." A refined container in its immovable aspects that define the space and its use, it allows for numerous possibilities for use and reuse without compromising its intelligibility or its overall or specific functionality.
The aim has been to define a novel image, distinct from the recurring formal elements of hospital architecture. Furthermore, situated on the metropolitan periphery, it clearly embraces its commitment to this specific context, transcending the conventional language of hospital architecture in its design and seeking new forms of expression for institutional architecture from a more welcoming and accessible social and cultural perspective.
