PROJECT: Puerta de Hierro Hospital

A flat building is designed that adapts harmoniously to a hostile territory, open to light and an interior landscape, thus avoiding high-rise buildings, which would further aggravate the fragile balance between building, landscape and infrastructure.

In order to achieve a more domestic image in the treatment of the building, a predominance of horizontal relationships is favored, and a patterned arrangement of floors by the sequential presence of garden courtyards, which makes it possible to understand the spaces and mainly allows the user to quickly learn its typology and the building.

The main task of the formal scheme has been to develop spaces that are catalysts for the building's transformation as part of a landscape infrastructure, anticipating future changes and expansions.

In addition to prioritizing functional and environmental constraints, the project involves significant research into the typology of the Hospital as an architectural model.
