Majadahonda Light Rail
PROJECT: Majadahonda Light Rail, Madrid
The plot where the complex is located is bordered to the north by the Majadahonda-Las Rozas road, to the west by the M-50 motorway, and to the south and west by undeveloped plots.
From the access point on the north side, the plot slopes gently down towards the southwest.
The complex that is the subject of the project consists of 5 buildings, which house workshops, a service station, a car wash, offices and an access control post.
The arrangement of these on the plot is conditioned by the railway operation of the trains, the control of access and the parameters of solar use for lighting and energy capture, which have significantly influenced the design.
Special importance has been given to the passive conditioning of the building, designing it with solar chimneys that force the ventilation of the interior of the workshops, while also functioning as skylights and photovoltaic collection panels.
