Rehabilitation in the Palma-Palmilla neighborhood

PROJECT: Proposal for the delimitation of a rehabilitation area in the Palma-Palmilla neighborhood

The project aims to define and improve a Rehabilitation Area for the Palma-Palmilla neighborhoods in Málaga, which have a proposed area of ​​550,978 m2 and contain a total of 5,871 dwellings. This represents a gross density of 106.55 dwellings per hectare.

The area of ​​the rehabilitation zone that is delimited is located next to the Guadalmedina River, on its right bank, on the northeast edge of the city and borders the non-urbanizable land.

Originally an isolated enclave, as the city expanded it became part of the urban sprawl. However, this change is deceptive, because while this may appear to be the case on paper, the city's layout and the established uses within its perimeter keep the Palma-Palmilla neighborhood subject to significant functional isolation from the rest of the city's residential developments.
