Special Development Plan for the Fairgrounds Park
PROJECT: Special Development Plan for the Fairgrounds Park
The fundamental objective of the Plan is to obtain land for the planned facilities.
The plan proposes a central area, coinciding with the zone of least dense pine forest and vegetation, for the General Amenity System that will meet the needs of the Fairgrounds. The remainder of the design, following the general design criteria of all new developments in Mazagón, is reserved for the Open Space System, leaving the pine forest as it is, and providing it with sufficient complementary facilities for public use.
A perimeter road, following the route of existing paths, surrounds the fairgrounds and provides access to the commercial area belonging to the Zone Four Partial Plan. This road includes the corresponding parking facilities.
At the end adjacent to the Valdemorales Urbanization, a service road is being built, incorporating parking spaces in a boulevard-like fashion. This serves the needs of the residential area and provides for public use of the Park and the Fairgrounds.
A network of pedestrian paths and bicycle lanes runs through the Plan area from North to South and from West to East.
The sector is crossed by the road network that connects to the Marina, originating from the entrance roundabout located at the intersection with La Batería, which is one of the requirements of the Mazagón Development Plan.
At the eastern corner, the planned facilities will be located in a two-story building that will house the commercial space.
This will integrate the area and create an alternative within the main urban center of Mazagón, a leisure zone that will alleviate the existing tensions caused by these activities, which are currently confined to residential areas and often inadequately accommodated.
