Urban rehabilitation in Puche
PROJECT: Urban rehabilitation in El Puche
The aim is to create a new internal functional structure by rehabilitating its urban fabric, regenerating the residential area, and expanding the neighborhood onto vacant land to the west. This includes reducing the impact of the railway, which acts as an urban barrier hindering integration into the city, and developing the banks of the Andarax River to create a linear park. As an added factor of centrality, a major shopping center will be built at the northern edge of the neighborhood, serving the area and integrating it into the regular routes of Granada residents. The regeneration of the residential area involves the reconstruction of Puche Centro and the rehabilitation of the buildings in Puche Norte and Sur. The overall plan includes re-equipping the neighborhood, diversifying the range of amenities, and completing the public facilities. Similarly, the project seeks to create a network of public open spaces: plazas, parks, and pedestrian walkways. It also aims to rationalize and provide continuity to the existing road network while simultaneously creating a new one.
