180 Social Housing Units in Marismas del Odiel

PROJECT: 180 Social Housing Units in the "Marismas del Odiel" Partial Plan of Huelva. (Won 1st prize in competition)
Three 8-story residential buildings are planned for these rectangular plots, each with 60 units, storage rooms, and underground parking.

From the ground floor to the rooftop, an open-air interior courtyard extends, onto which the covered galleries providing access to the apartments open. A core of wet areas, comprising bathrooms and kitchens, is situated around this courtyard, freeing up the exterior perimeter for the main living spaces: living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms. Thus, all apartments have facades facing both sides of the courtyard, and the vertical arrangement of all wet areas optimizes the use of the building's systems.

The main entrance is on the ground floor, at the southwest end, through an area under a covered walkway shared by pedestrians and vehicles. This leads to the entrance hall, which connects directly to the vertical core containing the elevators and a staircase open to the courtyard. The vehicle access ramp to the parking garage is also accessible from this area.
