Dr. Rafael Hernandez Specialized Hospital Center
PROJECT: Dr. Rafael Hernández Specialized Hospital Center
The bidding process for the construction of the Dr. Rafael Hernandez Specialized Hospital Center stems from a significant effort by the Panama Social Security Fund to modernize and adapt its healthcare infrastructure to meet the growing health needs and expectations of its population. This effort has resulted in the bidding process for the construction of the Dr. Rafael Hernandez Specialized Hospital Center, located in the district of David, with the aim of transforming it into a comprehensive Hospital City comprised of a network of healthcare facilities. The commissioning of the new complex is planned in two phases to minimize the impact of the construction work.
An architectural design has been developed that considers, from a holistic perspective, the hospital's expansion and renovation process and its commissioning, taking into account the multiple factors that interact throughout the entire process. The design of the towers ensures that their configuration meets the needs of patients, motivates professionals, and guarantees the highest efficiency and quality of healthcare services for the community it serves.
The layout of the new buildings that make up the specialized hospital center, as well as their connections and circulation routes, has been designed taking into account that the desired hospital model aligns with: the type of pathology it must treat, the ideal size of the spaces, and the functional relationships required by each area and service. All of these aspects have a tremendous impact on the subsequent operation and management of the hospital.
