PROJECT: Los Mondragones Sports Centre

The "Los Mondragones" Sports Center aims to continue the urban regeneration of this metropolitan area, which formerly housed the military installations that give the zone its name. Some of the buildings originally used for military purposes now house municipal services of the Granada City Council.

The aim is to provide this urban area with sports facilities including indoor padel courts, a gym, and swimming pools, with a total area dedicated to this use exceeding 8,300 m². This sports center is complemented by a compatible commercial area of ​​approximately 2,500 m²

The proposal includes an underground parking garage that aims to provide parking spaces to this clearly underserved urban area, both for short-term parking and for residents and/or season ticket holders

This building, therefore, solves a complex functional program in which facilities coexist that can be operated independently, and which therefore in all or some cases must function independently of each other.

To achieve this, separate access points are planned for both pedestrians and vehicles, and the formalization of different above-ground volumes that will house the different uses, joined by a covered access porch as the main space and reference point for the planned urban regeneration.
