Marchamalo Health Center

PROJECT: La Campiña Health Center in Marchamalo, Guadalajara

At the La Campiña Health Center in Marchamalo, the planned grouping of consultation rooms, wards, and other spaces, along with the access and circulation system, creates a play of views and transparencies in which the central courtyard takes center stage. From a volumetric perspective, the design aims to clearly reflect the functional organization around the two longitudinal blocks in the resulting building. Both blocks offer distinct and specialized fenestration based on the specific rooms and their orientations.

On a roughly trapezoidal plot of land measuring 2,000 m², the health center rises two stories set back five meters above the site. The building's footprint is 976.43 m² on the ground floor, reaching 1,009 m² on the upper floor.

The interior spaces of the Health Center revolve around the central courtyard, which serves as the building's focal point and onto which its various components open. The open-plan lobby, whose height reaches the full volume of the building, connects the two floors of the Health Center.
